MADELINE FLORENCE COUSINS (GREGORY)

Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMADELINE FLORENCE COUSINS (nee GREGORY) Quietly on August 21st, 2009 Madeline Cousins was raised to eternal life at the age of 89 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's. She joined her beloved husband Thomas who predeceased her. Left to mourn her cherished memory are her son Allen Cousins and his wife Kimberly, grandson Gregory, her nieces Eleanor Fogg, Naomi Scriver, her nephew Gordon Fogg and many good friends. Madeline was born on March 29th, 1920 in Montreal, Quebec. She left home to join the war effort in March 1942 and served until October 1945 with the Royal Canadian Air Force. Madeline spent the bulk of her working life with the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires and in July 1983 she was awarded the Commissionaires Service Award. She was very active in the Royal Canadian Legion for over 30 years, serving on her branch executive committee in various capacities several times. Madeline was also an active church member at St. Bartholomew Anglican Church on Autumnwood Drive in Winnipeg until her hospitalization. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday August 28th, at Neil Bardal Inc., 3030 Notre Dame Avenue across from Brookside Cemetery. Madeline will be buried alongside her husband in The National Field of Honour in Pointe Claire, Quebec. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at Riverview Health Centre who lovingly cared for Madeline over her eight year stay with them. They would also like to thank Ron Storozuk for his wisdom, caring and friendship over the past several years.
