ERNEST DUECK August 7, 1919 - August 22, 2009 Peacefully on August 22, 2009 at Tuxedo Villa Personal Care Home at the age of 90 years. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of nearly 57 years Jean, sons Bryan (Susan), Ron (Cheryl), daughter Terry (Graeme), grandchildren Kris, Jaclyn (Jeff), Kristen, Melanie, Rebecca, Jonathan, great-grandchildren Julia, Ian and Katrina, as well as sisters Charlotte Barg and Agnes Ward. He was predeceased by his parents Isaac and Maria and sisters Kay Warkentine and Carol Froese. Ernie immigrated with his family to Canada as a young boy, and after serving his country in the Second World War, married Mom on September 20, 1952. Dad's greatest joy was his family. He was always there when we needed him, in good times and bad. We will forever cherish the special occasions celebrated at Mom and Dad's. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Special thanks to the staff and friends made at Tuxedo Villa and to the staff of Unit 4 South, Victoria General Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 28, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Harrow United Church, 955 Mulvey Avenue with reception to follow. A private family interment will take place following the reception. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba - 6 Donald St., Winnipeg MB R3L 0K6.
