NEIL JAMES EVANS February 22, 1962 - August 21, 2009 It is with deep sadness that we announce Neil's sudden passing on August 21, 2009. He was 47. He is survived by his beloved Melanie, his son Tyler of whom he was so proud, step-children Kate and Jordan, his loving parents Jim and Jean Evans, and Tyler's mom Diane. Extended family in England, Spain and British Columbia will also mourn his loss, along with many dear friends. Neil was born in Stoke on Trent, England and came to Canada in 1963 with his parents. He graduated from John Taylor Collegiate in 1980 and attended University for several years before beginning his working life. Neil began his successful career at Princess Auto in 1987 where he worked proudly until his passing. He was a Certified Human Resource Management Specialist (with Honours) and utilized those talents in a number of positions culminating with the title, Leader, Internal Loss Prevention - Industrial Relations. No one understood the collective bargaining process better than Neil. He was also a successful athlete. Neil excelled at hockey and loved to be on the golf course. He jokingly bragged that he was a tri-athlete - Pool, Darts, and Shuffleboard. Neil will always be remembered for the loving, honest and hard working man that he was who brought happiness to those around him. A celebration of Neil's life will be held at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, August 30, Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish to do so, please make a donation to The Princess Auto Foundation.
