PEARL HANSEN It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of our dear mother, Pearl Hansen, who died peacefully in her sleep in the presence of her family at Middle Church Home on August 23, 2009, at the age of 81 years. Mom is survived by one daughter, Luciel (Kent) Oatway; two sons, Ingamar/Murray (Floreen) and Lindsay (Josephine); grandchildren Wayne, Arnold, Russell, Jacinta, Dana; Irwin, Lloyd, Benny, Trisha, Terrisietta; Reggie, Stewart; Cheyenne, Amy, Twyla, Kerry, Ingy, Waylin; including spouses; step-grandchildren Lee, Judy, Carleen, Litonya, Shanelle, Tyler; and several great grandchildren. She also leaves to mourn her passing two sisters, Mildred (Ernest) Brown and Zelma Ross (Frank Desjarlais); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Murray; sons Lloyd and Russell; grandson Shawn; great grandson Russell; and special friend of 27 years Orest Gooley. Mom was a Jill of all trades . She raised her four children single handedly after being widowed at the age of 36. While we were growing up she sewed, gardened, did carpentry, made do with what we had... . She taught us that hard work would take us far in life. If you were in need, she would give you the shirt off her back before you even had to ask. Mom lived independently in Winnipeg Beach for numerous years. She was Aunty Pearl to almost everyone she met. She loved being around people - playing cards, Yahtzee and doing word search puzzles. The family would like to thank the staff at Middle Church Home of Winnipeg. Mom appreciated each of you. We especially thank you for making Mom's last days as comfortable as possible. A celebration of Pearl's life and memorial service for Murray Hansen will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. As per Mom's wishes, there will be no wake service.
