WALTER ROBERT HEFT It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Walter Robert (Bob) Heft, following a long illness on August 21, 2009 at the age of 80. Bob is survived by his wife Eveline (nee Cope), daughter Cynthia (Randy), daughter-in-law Shannon, grandchildren Shawn (Greg), Dawn (Steve), Robert (Zahra), Anne-Marie and Wade (Helen), great-grandchildren Alanna, Jesse, Caitlin, Kyle, Sammy, Mohammed and Devin and his sister Martha. He was predeceased by his son Alan, brother William and sister Jenny. Bob was born in the Pembina Valley Region, Manitoba on January 7, 1929, the son of Adolph and Pauline. He lived in Winnipeg all his life where he also met and married Eveline (Evie) on October 5, 1946. Bob worked as an electrician with the Department of National Defense and the Health Sciences Centre, where he retired in 1987. Bob was a life long member of the West Kildonan Legion where he served as president in 1980. Bob was a great outdoorsman. He loved to fish and enjoyed many happy years at his cottage in Manigotogan, Manitoba. He frequently travelled to Ontario and Vancouver to visit his family and friends. At Bob's request, there will be no formal service. A private family gathering will be held at a later date. Flowers are gratefully declined. In lieu, donations can be made to the CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg MB R3E 0V9.
