ANNA KAROLINE FROLICK (nee Kristiansen) Born September 26, 1922 On Monday, August 24, 2009 Mom finished chatting with everybody that she had met here on Earth, so she peacefully slipped away to bend the Lord's ear. She was born in Moose Jaw, SK to Norwegian immigrant homesteaders, but after several bad crops and a house fire in the dirty 30s , the family bought a grain farm near Dugald, MB. She always liked school, attending at South Plympton School, Lorette and later attended teacher's college in Winnipeg. She enjoyed travelling as she taught in many one room school houses across Manitoba, Ontario and BC from 1940 to 1959. Mom married Dad (Irwen) in 1959 and settled near Dugald again to farm and raise a family. Along with all the hard work of a farm, Anna kept up regular correspondence with her family from Norway, as well as many friends and relatives in Canada. She also enjoyed reading the Readers Digest and listening to CJOB. She was predeceased by her husband Irwen and her brother Omar Kristiansen. She will be missed by sons Ron Frolick (Colette), Bruce Frolick (Bev), daughters Maureen Frolick (Randy Gouge), Diane Frolick (Sean Espey), sister Dagney Chornoboy (Maurice), sister-in-law Ruby Kristensen (Omar). Also grandchildren Garry (Kye Wan), Chris, Louise, Matthew, Justin, Matthew, Siri, Emma, Molly and Petra. The family would like to thank all the staff at Park Manor Personal Care Home for the wonderful care they gave to Mom. Prayers will be held Thursday, September 3 at 7:00 p.m. in the Wheeler Funeral Chapel, 211 Regent Avenue (at Bond), Winnipeg, MB. Remembrance service will be held on Friday, September 4 at 11:00 a.m. also at the Wheeler Funeral Chapel. Pastor Harold Borchardt officiating. Lunch to follow. Interment to follow at the Beausejour Cemetery. FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS IN CARE OF WHEELER FUNERAL CHAPEL 211 REGENT AVENUE WEST (at Bond) 224-1525

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • I'm saddened to hear about Anna's passing. She was a good soul who lived a hard life, but I'm glad she was able to enjoy herself near the end. I wish I'll be able to enjoy a bus trip to the park when I'm almost 87! I'll always remember her desire to tend to us when we visited the farm. And we were concerned she was doing too much and had to ask her to relax... I'm sorry for your loss. My condolences to Maureen, Ron, Bruce, Diane and the rest of the Frolick clan. I know you'll miss her. - Posted by: Brooke Grantham (Friend) on: Sep 02, 2009
