WARREN STEEN On Wednesday, August 19, 2009, Warren died at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 69 years. Remaining to forever cherish Warren's memory are his daughter Laura (Ralph) Schofield and their children Brooklyne and Edison; cousins Bruce, Pat, Ken and Sonja and their daughter Selena; Dawna; and special friend Barbara Shlanda. He was predeceased by his parents Manley and Harriette, and brothers Robert Steen and Daryl Steen. Warren served as an Alderman in the old City of Winnipeg from 1970 to 1971 and as a city Counselor in the amalgamated city from 1971 to 1975. He was first elected to the Manitoba Legislation in 1975 and was re-elected in 1977 where he served until 1986. Warren spent the rest of his career in the insurance industry. Warren also enjoyed golf with his many friends and was an avid jogger, his favourite place being City Park. A celebration of Warren's life will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2009 from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. in the Masonic Memorial Temple, 420 Corydon Avenue (confusion corner). We would like to thank the paramedics and the City of Winnipeg Fire Department for all their help. In lieu of flowers, donations in Warren's memory may be made to the St. Boniface Hospital, 409 Tache Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R2H 2A6.

I just read of Warrens passing, we were neighbors when Laura was a baby on Oxford St. We helped campaign in 1970. My daughter is Andrea. Peggy is Lauras mom. Old friends, along with the Southby's.
