FRED LASHEWICZ Fred Lashewicz of Alonsa, Manitoba passed away peacefully with his wife and family by his side on Sunday, August 16, 2009 at the Neepawa General Hospital at the age of 79 years. Fred is survived by his wife of 36 years Anne; brothers Bill (Patsy), Steve (Bunty); sisters Hattie (Nick) and Katie; their adopted family The Johns as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral Mass was held on Friday, August 21, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Nativity Roman Catholic Church in McCreary. Interment followed at St. George's Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery in Alonsa. Donations can be made in Fred's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society 193 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3C 2B7. www.cancer.ca. The family would like to thank Father Vincent de Paul Tchaoule of Ste. Rose, Father Paul Tinguely of Winnipeg and Father Michel Nault of St. Lazare for taking part in the services for Fred as well as to family and friends for all their love and support.
