ROBERT (BOB) FAICKNEY Born Glasgow, Scotland August 6, 1920 Died Calgary, Alberta May 10, 2008 BERNICE KATHLEEN FAICKNEY (nee FRENCH) Born Winnipeg, MB November 4, 1923 Died Red Deer, Alberta June 22, 2008 Formerly of Winnipeg and Thompson. Bob served as a member of Royal Canadian Artillery from 1939 to 1945 serving in Sicily and Italy. During the 1950s he worked as a mechanic for Winnipeg Transit. In Thompson during the 1960s and 1970s he worked for Winnipeg Supply Fuel and Inco. Bernice worked for Eatons in the 1940s and Bata Shoes in Thompson. They are survived by their nine children, 24 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; as well as Bernice's sister Olive Nuels of Winnipeg. Funeral services have taken place in Alberta. Interment will be held in Brookside Cemetery, Field of Honour, on Thursday, September 3 at 1:30 p.m.
