JOSEF KEBEL March 27, 1933 - August 31, 2009 Suddenly on August 31, 2009 at the Lakeshore General Hospital in Ashern, Josef Kebel Jr. passed away. He leaves to mourn his wife of 52 years, Sophie; daughter Monica; son Ernie (Shari) and his three grandsons Mitchell, Brent and Darcy; a sister Katie Folhoffer, along with numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews. Josef was born in Hungary on March 27, 1933. He came with his parents to Canada in 1949, settling in Rose Valley, SK. He went to work in the bush camps in Ontario. He eventually moved to Winnipeg where he met the love of his life, Sophie Reinhardt. They married in 1957, then in 1959 moved to the farm in Moosehorn where they raised their two children. Joe farmed until the day of his passing and wouldn't have wanted it any other way. Cutting hay with his grandsons made him proud. Joe had many things he loved to do. He loved building things in the barn such as his grandsons' 4-H tack boxes. He would also spend his time fixing the lawnmower and especially liked playing cards and Nintendo. He couldn't wait till Spring to start growing plants in his greenhouse and his garden. His ultimate pride and joy were his three grandsons. Opa will be sorely missed!!!! A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 4, 2009 at the Peace Lutheran Church in Moosehorn, MB with Pastor Gary Russell officiating.
