Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNETTIE HOLODRYGA The family wishes to announce the peaceful passing of our mom, Nettie on September 1, 2009 at the Holy Family Home. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Peter (Linda), Ernest, Victor (Brenda), Elsie (Paul), Susan (Terry), Rick (Elaine), Jim, Jerry (Cornelia), David (Karen), Mark (Tammy), Ben (Sonja), 22 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her husband John, and daughter Marion. Mom was born in Tolstoi, June 25, 1921. In October 24, 1942, she married John and they farmed at Rosa until moving to Tolstoi in 1949 where they raised their family. She was an active member of the Tolstoi Ukrainian Orthodox Church and WI, as well as a member of the Tolstoi Senior Centre. Mom created a warm and hospitable environment always welcoming family, friends and neighbours into her home. Sunday dinners were immensely enjoyed and will always be remembered. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning and loved to pick blueberries. Although mom loved living in Tolstoi, due to health reasons, she moved to Holy Family Home in 2004 where she received the utmost in care from the warm and dedicated staff, to which our family owes a debt of gratitude. Prayers will be held on Friday, September 4, 2009 at Green Acres Funeral Home at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 5 at Tolstoi Holy Ghost Church at 10:00 a.m., interment to follow. In lieu of flowers if friends wish to make donations, they may be made to Holy Ghost Orthodox Church Tolstoi. We will always love you and miss you and hold you forever in our hearts.
