ALAN JOHN HARPER July 28, 1947 - August 28, 2009 It's with great sadness that we announce the sudden death of Alan Harper of Winnipeg, MB at the Health Sciences Centre. He is predeceased by his father James Harper (1985) and his son Alex Harper (2004). Leaving to mourn his loss is his loving mother Emily Harper, his aunt Margaret (Martin), his cousin Jane (Dragon) and their children Matthew, Alex and Daniel. Alan was born July 28, 1947 in Winnipeg, MB. He was a simple man who enjoyed his family and his son Alex who has passed. Alan worked for the family business for 16 years and then retired. He stayed in Winnipeg but traveled to Scotland and enjoyed his mother's family. We would like to thank the nurses and doctors on the fourth floor at Health Sciences Centre for all that they did for Alan and family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Alan's memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 200-310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6 or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6. Cremation has already taken place. A celebration of Alan's life will take place at Thomson Funeral Home on Saturday, September 5, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. with reception to follow.
