Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY ROMANIUK (TODORUK) Mary (Todoruk) Romaniuk passed away on June 16, 2009. She was born on March 23, 1923 to Sam and Anna Todoruk in Mountain Road, Manitoba. Mary married Andy Romaniuk on May 30, 1959. They were the love of each other's lives and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a special dinner for two. Before meeting Andy, Mary worked at Fenwick's Department store in Neepawa, worked a summer in Clear Lake and briefly in Dauphin. Mary then moved to Portage la Prairie and worked at the Olympia Café and later at the Mayfair Hotel. She gained employment with Singer Sewing Machines in Winnipeg where she taught sewing when she met Andy. In 1960, Mary and Andy moved to Minneapolis and she then worked at a computer store, Target and then Justers Clothing store. They lived in Minneapolis until 1990 when they moved to Rochester, MN. In 2006, they moved to Kasson, MN and lived at Prairie Meadows Assisted Living facility. She enjoyed polka music, dancing, gardening, sewing and travelling. She was preceded in death by her parents from Mountain Road and her brother, Bill of Portage la Prairie. Mary is survived by her husband Andy, of Kasson, MN and her sisters, Helen and Doreen of Moose Jaw and her brother, Sonny from Alonsa. A memorial service will be held at Good Shepherd Roman Catholic Church in Portage la Prairie at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 12. A lunch will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, people can donate to the charity of their choice.
