HELEN BERKIS Peacefully on Sunday, August 30, 2009, Helen Berkis passed away at the Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg, at the age of 87 years. Helen was predeceased by her parents William and Zetta, brother Rudy, sister Lydia and brother Andrew. She leaves to mourn her passing her sister Loretta (Gene), brother Kenneth (Jocelyn), sister Brenda (Warren), nieces, nephews and friends. Helen was born and raised in Fork River, Manitoba. She attended school in Fork River and received her Secondary Education in Dauphin, Manitoba. This was followed by a career as an Administrator in both Winnipeg and Hamilton, Ontario. Helen returned from Ontario after a number of years where she was employed by Eatons until her retirement. Helen enjoyed athletics of all kinds and in her later years loved watching her nephew curl on TV. In her younger years she enjoyed dancing and midnight frolics. She also had found much enjoyment with her community involvement. A Private Family Service will be held. The family would like to express a special thanks to the staff at Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg for all of their help and compassion over the last two years.
