RONALD SCHNEIDER September 23, 1922 - September 3, 2009 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ron Schneider on September 3, 2009 at the Concordia Hospital. Ron is survived by his wife Alice; sisters-in-law Mary Schneider, Bertha Schneider, Edna Schneider, Mary Molnar and Margaret Molnar; brother-in-law Vince Chillog (Anne) and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Fred and Margaret; brothers Bill, Manuel and Hammy; sisters Dolly, Pauline and Emily. Ron was born in Rhein, Saskatchewan, moving to Winnipeg to enlist in the Army in 1941. After the war he returned to Winnipeg where he married Alice in 1949. They had just celebrated their 60th anniversary in March of 2009. After Ron left the service he worked at various vocations before finally settling in with a long career as a Correction Officer with the Province of Manitoba. Retirement found Ron and Alice travelling extensively around North America and Hawaii. Uncle Ron was more like an older brother than an uncle to his nephews and nieces. The family would like to gratefully acknowledge the kindness and support of the medical staff of the Concordia Hospital during these last few difficult weeks. A memorial service will be held in Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook Street, at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2009. Ron's ashes will be interred in Yorkton, Saskatchewan.
