OTTAVIO LUIGI FURLAN April 28, 1931 - September 3, 2009 Peacefully on Thursday, September 3, 2009, Ottavio passed away at Grace Hospital. Ottavio is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Ida, children: Carlo (Carolyn), Lena (Tim) and Romeo (Joanne), grandchildren: Justin, Joshua, Jesse, Nicole and Adrian, step-grandchildren: Colin (Robin), Darren (Jessica) and Robin (Greg). He is also survived by his brothers: Sergio of Winnipeg and Mario of Italy, sisters: Albina and Caterina also of Italy, numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law as well as many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family members. He will be dearly missed by all. Ottavio was predeceased by his parents, Regina and Andrea, sister Almida, brothers, Domenico, Bruno, Giovanni and Lino. Ottavio was born in Colle Umberto Vittorio Veneto, Italy. He came to Canada in 1954 and settled in Winnipeg for the remainder of his lifetime. A stroke in 1982, cut short his last job with City Parks and Recreation, located in Assiniboine Park. Viewing will take place from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 with Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Parish, 510 River Avenue. Interment and reception to follow at Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Avenue.
