CAMERON ALEXANDER GILCHRIST Passed away peacefully with family at his side, at the Grace Hospital, Winnipeg, after a short battle with cancer. Loved son of the late Scott (1982) and Adeline Dale Gilchrist (2008). Poet, author, songwriter, philosopher, cab driver and a dedicated runner, Cameron leaves a cherished legacy of sonnets and musical creations. Devoted caregiver to his mom, he leaves to mourn his loss, cousins, Jack Gilchrist (Frances), David Findlay, Bonnie Gill (Jim), Barbara Findlay (Mike), John Findlay (Sue) and Pam Purvis. Also second cousins, Cathy (late Richard), Debby, Jamie (Adam) and Andrea (Blair). Special mention must also be made of friends, Bruce and Michelle who supported Cameron through this journey, and to Anita and Evergreena, who helped Cameron take special care of his mother. In support of Cameron's wishes, there will be no service. Interment will take place at a later date in Sioux Lookout, with both his parents. Cremation. In lieu of flowers, please plant a tree. I am very saddened to hear the news of Cameron's passing. I will miss seeing him at church so loyally. Cameron is dearly loved by so many there. He always called everyone by their names, and had a way of making each of us feel special. I'm sure he felt the love we all had for him as well. I'm confident he felt a connection to his dear mom, Dale, when at church, and trust that he found some peace there. He hold them both close to our hearts.
