Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLAWRENCE (LARRY) WILLIAM ANDERSON July 21, 1942 - September 4, 2009 It is with great sadness, that we announce the death of Larry Anderson on Friday, September 4, 2009. Born in Edmonton, Alberta, Larry was predeceased by his father, Gordon in 1972 and his partner, Jane Chalmers, in 2008. Larry is survived by his mother, Anna Anderson of North Vancouver; from Winnipeg, his good friend, ex-wife and mother of his four children, Dianne Anderson; his sons, John (Terry), David, Jeff (Cathy) and daughter Terri (Verne) Anderson; grandchildren Melissa (Mike Durand), Matthew, Megan and Tanner; great- grandchildren, Mia and Rilee; his sisters, Barbara Anderson of Victoria, Gail (Ravi) Ghai of Florida and Janice (Doug) Dalzell of West Vancouver. Larry leaves behind Jane's daughters, Susan Chalmers, her husband Dale Weidman and Cindy (Kent) Alekson, their children, Allison and Conner Weidman and Lauren Alekson, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins who'd all made special trips to say good bye to Larry. Larry had a long career in banking, moving with his family from Edmonton to Medicine Hat, St. Paul, Dawson Creek, Vancouver, Winnipeg and Red Deer. For the last twenty years he had worked at Nevada Bob's in North Vancouver, which then became, Perfect Lies. His love of golf and his gift of gab made it a Perfect Lie for Larry. Larry was an avid skier, curler and bridge player. His favourite saying was, Sixty percent of all bridge games are won or lost because of the lead ; if you were his partner the right lead was critical. Larry had a wicked sense of humour and a caustic wit but over the last few months, as his disease progressed, he became more gracious and appreciative of everything that everyone did for him. Larry died with dignity and in control to the final end. He died as he lived life - he did it his way. The family would like to thank doctors Juanita Anderson and Sacha Smiljanic, the nurses, doctors and all the staff of the Lions Gate Palliative Care for their wonderful kindness. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Lions Gate Hospice, or the North Shore Search and Rescue. A Funeral Mass will be held to celebrate Larry's life on Thursday, September 10, 2009 at 10.30 a.m., Holy Trinity Church, 2725 Lonsdale Avenue North Vancouver, B.C.
