He served in the Air Force and took part in the Second World War. Gordon had many careers in his life, his last being with MPIC, and retiring on March 29, 1985, while working at MPIC he volunteered for the United Way of Winnipeg. He was a great fan of sports; coaching baseball out of West End Memorial with the Rosedale's and was very involved with the Manitoba Baseball Association. Gordon and Mona also spent many years travelling to Brier and World curling events, and spent many years at Spruce Sands campground, where many memories and friends were made and for anybody that was missing firewood during those years, we sincerely apologize!
