ABRAM FRIESEN Surrounded by his family, Abram Friesen of Grunthal, MB peacefully passed away at Steinbach Bethesda Hospital on Saturday, September 5, 2009 at the age of 63. Abe was born in Winkler, MB to Jacob S. and Tiena Friesen on July 13, 1946. Left to cherish his memory is his wife Glenys of 40 years, two daughters, Jane (Rodney) and Janet (Jeff); two grandsons, Rhyder Cayer, Aaron Fehr; two brothers and four sisters, Jake (Bertha) Friesen, Kathy (Henry) Wiebe, Nettie (Bill) Friesen, Peter (Elizabeth) Friesen, Martha (Harold) Peters, Mary (David) Klapp; one brother-in-law Gary Moore and family, and one sister-in-law Joan Whittle, plus numerous nieces and nephews on both sides. He was predeceased by his parents, one sister, stepmom Maria Thiessen, two stepsiblings in infancy, both mother and father-in-law, one brother-in-law and one nephew. The family would like to thank Dr. Ilchyna and all the nurses at Bethesda Hospital, Dr. Toews and nursing staff at Cancer Care Centre, Steinbach for taking care of him. The viewing for Abe Friesen will be held at the Evangelical Mennonite Brethren Church in Grunthal on Thursday, September 10, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 p.m. Interment of ashes will be held Saturday, September 19 at the Grunthal Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Manitoba Division, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7.
