GOLDIE FURPHY 1926 - 2009 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Goldie Furphy on September 5, 2009. Goldie was predeceased by husband Tom, parents William and Ellen Guise, brother Jim Guise, sister-in-law Julie Guise, brothers-in-law Walter and Roland and nephew Johnny Furphy. Survived by daughter Liora Glow, son-in-law Brian Glow, grandsons David and Devon Glow, foster daughter Carol Manryk (Dave), sister-in-law Grace Furphy, nieces Pat Parker, Vandy Yarama (Gary), Maureen Galuska (Stan), Linda Fauvelle (Ron) and Carol Gauthier and nephews Tommy Guise (Tess) and Merv Furphy (Darlene). Goldie was kind, soft-spoken, generous and loving. She always saw the best in everyone. She adored her grandsons David and Devon. They brought her such joy. She loved the times when all three generations went to family Camp Wasaga in the summer and at Thanksgiving. Goldie spent many years as Manager of the Mohawk College Student Council. She was Mom to many students who were far from home. Upon her retirement, a boardroom at the college was named in her honour. A celebration of her life will take place at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul, MB on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a donation to Camp Wasaga, Box 1791, Station Main, Winnipeg, MB R3C 3R1 or the Sunshine Fund to help send kids to camp (Manitoba Camping Association) 302 - 960 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3G 0R4.
