PAUL WASYLIW Peacefully, on Monday, September 7, 2009 at the Gimli Community Health Centre, Paul passed away at the age of 82 years. He was predeceased by his parents, Steve and Katherine and his wife Elsie. Paul is survived by his two sons, John (Ann) and Peter; grandchildren, Evan and Amanda; brother-in-law Frank Shynkarchuk and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Dad was born on March 7, 1927 in Fraserwood, Manitoba, where he was raised and farmed his entire life. He was a member and strong supporter of the National Farmers Union and very active in the community. Paul was a councilor for the R.M. of Armstrong for a number of years and maintained and looked after the St. Basil's Cemetery Prayers will be said on Thursday, September 10 at 7:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel in Gimli. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 11 at 10:00 a.m. in the Fraserwood Hall with Rev. John Melnyk officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Basil's Cemetery in Fraserwood. The family would like to graciously thank Dr. R.C. Patel, the nurses and staff at the Gimli Community Health Center and the nurses and staff at the Gimli Betel Home for their compassion, respect, care and kindness that Dad received, it was appreciated. A special thank you to Evelyn for the care and compassion shown to Dad over the past years. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Fraserwood farms.
