Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVERNON KIYAN April 14, 1952 - September 2, 2009 It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of our beloved father, grandfather, son and brother at his home in Fort McMurray, Alberta. Vernon is survived by his children Kyle (Kaleshia), Kane, Hailey, and Shannon; his grandchildren, Danica, Mackenzie, Logan and Kylah; his mother Betty and brother Randy of Winnipeg and his sister Judy Gaus (Robert) of Switzerland. He was predeceased by his father Bill on December 11, 1976. Vernon was born in Winnipeg and lived most of his adult life in British Columbia and Alberta. He was an avid lover of the outdoors and all that it had to offer. His passions included hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and gardening. The family wishes to extend their thanks to his employer Wilbros MSI Canada Inc. for their outstanding support and compassion during this difficult time. Funeral services were held on September 8, 2009 in Fort McMurray in the St. John's Roman Catholic Church with Deacon Jerry Metz officiating. Flowers gratefully declined. Should friends so desire, donations can be made in Vern's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.

I knew Vern in the 70's. I only found out he had passed away this year. He was a special person. - Posted by: Darlene Martin (Friend) on: Dec 21, 2014
