OLIVE BARRON Olive Barron (nee Rogan) passed away peacefully on August 25th, 2009. She had recently celebrated her 95th birthday. Ollie has left a legacy of memories to all who knew her. Ollie and her husband Alex shared many wonderful years together. The door to their home was always open for family and friends to visit, eat and be merry. Many a summer was spent at Riverdale Camp at Lac Du Bonnet and there were winters away to Arizona. The gin rummy board or a deck of cards were always in good use. Many nickels passed hands and much laughter abounded! Aunty Ollie's chip bowl was always full with a salty treat for all to enjoy. Socially, Ollie enjoyed bowling with the girls over the years. Game shows, soap operas and sports programs (especially baseball and curling) were always on the TV when you came to visit. Crossword puzzles kept her sharp as a tack. Family pets were always welcome to visit for a friendly pat on the head or a smooch! In later years, Ollie spent much time at home and looked forward to the cards, letters and phone chats with one and all. Ollie was predeceased by her husband Alexander Barron (MB), parents Nicholas and Katherine Rogan (MB/USA), brothers Alex Rogan (MB), Andrew Rogan (Illinois), half brothers Ed, Nick and Jim Rogan (Illinois), nephews Nicholas Rogan (Illinois), Michael Boychuk (BC), in-laws Roy Boychuk (BC), Paul Okrainetz (BC), Rita Rogan (Illinois). Ollie is survived by her sister Marie Boychuk Okrainetz of Prince Rupert, BC, sister-in-law Anna Rogan MB, many nieces and nephews and their extended families: Barb Rogan MB, Alanna Rogan MB, Andrew Rogan (Sandra) MB, Cindy Rogan SK, Ken Boychuk (Sharlene) BC, Glenn Boychuk (Leona) BC / SK, Corrine Paolinelli (Renzo) AB, Jerry Rogan (Carole) Iowa, Rick Rogan (Deborah) Illinois, Bob Rogan (Diane) Iowa. Many other relatives and their extended families throughout Canada and the USA; as well as life long friend, Jean Ahoff MB. A special thank you to Dr. T. R. Babick for all of the professional care and personal compassion he provided over the years. Honorary pallbearers are Aunty Ollie's six nephews. A private family gathering to celebrate Ollie's life and the interment at All Saints Cemetery will be held at a later date. Arrangements provided by Wheeler Funeral Chapel. Memory Eternal Aunty Ollie
