ALLAN A. BATURIN With great sorrow in our hearts, the family announces the loss of Allan Baturin, who died on September 7, 2009, at the age of 84. Elsie, his wife of 63 years, is left to cherish his memory, as well as his two daughters and their spouses, Audrey (George) and Lea (Gerry). Allan was much beloved by his entire family, including his grandchildren, Leanne (Tim), Ryan, Vanessa (Monte) and Celeste and his fun-loving great-grandchildren, Aria and Owen. He is survived by his sister Laura, of Edmonton. After decades of successfully operating Plastic Film Ltd. with his late brother, Peter, Allan enjoyed a happy retirement doing the things he loved, such as spending time at the cabin and golfing, but throughout his life, Allan's family and friends always came first. All who knew Allan, knew him to be kind, gentle, exceedingly generous in spirit, with an irrepressible sense of humour. He will be forever missed. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 15 at 10:00 a.m. at the Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of Royal Canadian Mint). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Manitoba Division. The family would like to extend thanks to the kind staff at the Oncology ward of Concordia Hospital, Palliative Care at Riverview and to Dr. Gorski, for their attentive care and support.
