EDNA HAMBLY (nee AMER) 1918 2009 Peacefully, on September 9, 2009, at the Gimli Community Health Centre, Edna Hambly died at the age of 90 years. Edna was predeceased by her beloved twin sons Grant (1999) and Gary (2003); brothers Dick and Jim as well as their wives. She is survived by her beloved husband of 67 years, Ross; sons Doug (Burma) and Rick; daughter Jill (Craig); daughter-in-law Shirley; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In earlier years Mom found great pleasure in gardening, cooking, curling and was an active member of the Gimli Legion and Ladies Auxiliary. She volunteered at the Gimli Hospital and the Betel Home. The family would like to give sincere thanks to Brenda, Dale and all the girls from homecare and also to all the staff at Betel Home and Gimli Hospital. Finally a BIG THANK YOU to their neighbour Jim, for always being there. A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 14, 2009 in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Gimli, MB, at 2:00 p.m. Interment of ashes will take place at a later date in the Arnes Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Arnes Cemetery, Box 94, Arnes, Mb, R0C 0C0. Gilbart Funeral Home, Gimli in care of arrangements.
