WENDY ANN HALLDORSON With profound sorrow we announce the death of our beloved Wendy Ann. She died suddenly at her home in St. Boniface on Monday, September 7, 2009. Her life began on February 22, 1965; a precious gift to parents Ron and Josephine Halldorson (Melody Renville). Wendy was a bright and happy child with a mischievous nature, which she shared with (and sometimes inflicted upon) her equally mischievous brother Owen. She attended Glenwood Elementary School and then went on to Glenlawn Collegiate. She was an excellent student throughout and always near the top of her class. She was athletic as well and studied gymnastics, eventually winning first place honours at a Manitoba-wide competition. Wendy loved music and was gifted with a warm and sweet singing voice. In 1978, at only 13 years of age, she joined the cast of the Ray St. Germain Country TV show on CKND (CanWest Global). She gained many fans while performing on that program but perhaps her greatest fan was her young sister Emily who watched and re-watched her performances many, many times. Wendy went on to perform with other musical groups throughout Manitoba, where she earned an even wider following. Wendy decided that the life of a travelling musician was not for her, although her love of music never waned. She studied accounting at Red River College and eventually became the company manager at Brunswick Label Systems , a position she expertly filled until shortly before her death. In spite of her busy schedule at work, her home was always immaculate and she was an excellent cook. Wendy enjoyed many recreational activities. She loved to bask in the warm sun, play golf and go river-rafting with friends. She enjoyed a good game of poker and barbecues with her mother at the Wrinkle Ranch ! She spent many happy times with her Amma Julie, who loved her dearly. Wendy leaves also to mourn: partners Mark Theobald, Greg Mitchell and Dana Hickman; special friend Andy Mojelsky; sisters-in-law Fran Bannister and Maureen Baskin; nephew Kyle and niece Kelsey, aunty Sharon and cousins Allyson and Darren, nanny Julie Zoroneck and Ron's wife, Tusia Kozub. She will be deeply missed by many other relatives and good friends. Cremation has taken place. A private memorial will be held at a later date. A lovely, brightly-coloured little bird flew into our lives, chirped and sang merrily and spread joy amongst us. But her song was all too short. We miss you dearest.
