BARBARA ALMASY (nee LOCKE) Peacefully at Lions Care Centre on September 9, 2009, Mrs. Barbara Almasy passed away at the age of 96 years. She was predeceased by her husband Ferdinand, and sister Mary. Barbara was a long time member of the ACW, and was jewelry lady of the Saturday morning Whale Sale at St. Luke's for over 30 years. She was very proud of the amount of money that she and her fellow jonahs raised for the church. Barbara spent many happy summers puttering around her cottage in Loni Beach. She enjoyed opera music, and had been president of the Wednesday morning Musicale. The family would like to thank the staffs of Victoria hospital and Lions personal care centre for the care given Barbara over the last few months. Friends Cathy, Bruce, Monica, Margaret, and Sid also provided much appreciated support over the years. Funeral service will be held at St. Luke's Anglican Church 130 Nassau on Friday September 18, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst, Winnipeg, R3T 0R3.
