RICHARD C. SCHOTT 1918 - 2009 With great sadness we announce the passing of Richard (Dick) Schott on September 11, 2009. He is survived by Gladys, his wife of 64 years; sons, David (Cathy) and Albert (Gaylen); grandchildren, Jeff, Christine, Daniel, Aaron, and Ainsley; great-grandchildren, Paige, Sarah, Brock and Amber. He is also survived by his brother Edward (Marian); sisters, Leona, Edna and Isabelle and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Lawrence, Clarence and Gordon. Dad was born and raised in the Morden area. He joined the RCAF, served overseas in the 44 Squadron Lancaster Bomber Division, was a P.O.W and returned safely to London where he and mom were married - soon after they settled in Winnipeg to raise their family. Over the years, Dad was involved in the construction industry, worked for the department of Northern Affairs and owned a farm equipment dealership in Elm Creek. He enjoyed hunting and fishing but most of all, his grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff of the St. Norbert Personal Care Home for their kindness and consideration during the past year. Cremation has taken place. A private Family Service and gathering will be held September 16, 2009. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
