DURRELL SANDERS With his family by his side, Durrell passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at Riverview Health Centre at the age of 62 years. Durrell is survived by his loving wife Sandra, father Earl, brothers Doug (Barbara), and Len, sisters Angela (Craig), and Michelle (Mathieu), as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his mother Gladys. Durrell ran a successful contracting company with his brother for several years until his retirement. Upon retiring he became very bored and took on a job at Standard Aero where he enjoyed the camaraderie of his co-workers. Durrell was an avid golfer. He was also a loyal Montreal Canadians fan and coached minor hockey for many years. Durrell enjoyed life to the fullest. He never did anything in half measures, dedicating himself to whatever task was at hand. He had a competitive spirit as well as a mischievous sense of humor. Durrell was privileged to find his spiritual side during his illness. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 18, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street with Rev. Msgr. Maurice Comeault officiating. Interment will follow at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Ken Vanamyde and staff of H4, Health Sciences Centre. As well as Riverview Health Centre for the compassion shown to Durrell during his end of life care.
