Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPAUL ZYLSTRA Paul Zylstra peacefully left his earthly bonds to be with his Lord on September 11, 2009, at the Concordia Hospital, after a short and courageous battle with cancer. Paul was born in the Netherlands on May 7, 1922. He later immigrated to Canada in 1958 and became the loving husband and best friend of Irene Zylstra (nee Baars) and beloved father of Annette Harder (Rick), and Ida Brydges (Barry). Proud Grandfather of David, Sheryl, and Stephanie. Loving Opa of Mable and Freida. Beloved great-grandfather of Serena. He is survived by his sisters, Jantje, Marthien, Hinderkien, Geertje. Egberdina, Maria, and his brother Egbert. Uncle to many nieces and nephews both in Canada and the Netherlands. A special thank you to Hennie Slikker for all her help and support over the last few years. He will be forever loved and missed by both family and friends. Memorial contributions to the Covenant Christian Reformed Church or the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. A public viewing will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2009 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home, 1 Green Acres Lane.
