ISABEL SANTOS On September 12, 2009, Isabel Santos, beloved wife of Joao (more commonly known as Tio Joao), passed away at Seven Oaks Hospital at the age of 79 years. Remaining to cherish her memory is her husband Joao, of 56 years marriage, her children Maria (Tony), John (Jacqueline), Luis, and Rui (Gina). Isabel also leaves behind her grandchildren Daniel, Edith, Valter, Priscilla, Elizabeth, Michael, Nicholas, Zoe, and Sophia, great grandchildren Alexander, Daniel, and Julia, and sister Maria. She is predeceased by her parents and brother Jose Marques. Isabel was born in Portugal on June 24, 1930. Joao and Isabel journeyed to Canada with their four children in 1971. Isabel took pride in her church membership at Immaculate Conception. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and travelling throughout North America, Portugal, and her dream trip to Israel. She was also a HUGE fan of The Young and the Restless and was thrilled when she actually met Victor Newman . The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of 407 at Seven Oaks Hospital for their kind and compassionate care. Prayers will be said on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 8:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 17, at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 181 Austin St. with Very Rev. José Medeiros, V. F. officiating. Interment to follow in Holy Family Cemetery. If desired, donations may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
