ALVIN FRIESEN On September 9, 2009 at the Victoria Hospital, our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Alvin Friesen passed away from a lengthy illness at the age of 71 years. Dad leaves to mourn, his loving wife Yvette (Johnson) Friesen, daughters, Paulette (Desrochers) married to Wayne McIntyre of Winnipeg, Carol (Desrochers) married to Denis Turenne of LaBroquerie, three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild; Natalie, Denise (Steve Hildebrand), son Alex; and Rachelle. Also surviving is his sister Matilda Harder, his mother Tina Friesen and many nieces and nephews. Dad was predeceased by his father Cornelius Friesen; mother Sara Loeppky; his sister Elfrieda Rempel; and his brother Menno Friesen. Dad was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was a simple man who needed very little and asked for very little. He never complained and had more patience than you and I. Even the staff at the hospital said he never gave them a problem. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, with Pastor Bernie Loeppky officiating. Private interment will take place at a later date. The family wishes to acknowledge their gratitude to the nurses and doctors on the fifth floor at Victoria Hospital. How they took excellent care of our father. We wish to thank Russ and Edie Hawkins these past months and in his last few days the Young family for all the help and support during the past three months.
