ALEXANDER BILENKI Alexander Bilenki passed away peacefully on Saturday afternoon, September 12, 2009 at Seven Oaks General Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Alex was a husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Alex was born to Mary Kyba and Constantin Bilenki, December 2, 1923 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He was married to Frances Placan in 1953 and remained married for 56 years until his passing. He was a previous member of the IPAC Soccer Club, Ukrainian Canadian Institute Prosvita, and Blessed Virgin Mary Parish where he was also an active choir member for over 30 years. He will be dearly missed and remembered by his wife Frances, son Daniel and his wife Jan Taylor-Bilenki of Calgary, Alberta; son Michael and his wife Barbara Bilenki of Winnipeg, Manitoba, their daughters Brandy and Sherry; nephew Robert and his wife Gloria Bilenki, their daughter Laura; nephew Howard and his wife Judy Bilenki, their son Michael; several other relatives, and many friends. Alexander is predeceased by his parents and brother Nicholas. A prayer service will be held Friday, September 18, 2009, 7:30 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel in Winnipeg, Manitoba and Funeral Service will be held Saturday September 19, 10:00 a.m., also at Cropo Funeral Chapel. Interment to follow at Holy Family Cemetery in Winnipeg, Manitoba. If friends and family so desire, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice in lieu of flowers. A special thank you to the medical and support staff at the Seven Oaks General Hospital, the dedicated team of home care professionals, and Anne and Ted Zacharkow for their caring and loving support to the family.
