EMMA KATHERINE BARBARA RAE WILKINSON Emma Katherine Wilkinson - Born Barbara Rae Wilkinson, 64, Salt Spring Island, BC. Emma died courageously, gracefully, and peacefully on September 11, 2009 in the arms of her daughters and her son-in-law, Bruce. She was born in Winnipeg in 1945 as the third child to John and Margaret Wilkinson. Emma was a nurse, a teacher, a devoted mother, an adoring grandmother, an inspired yoga student, and had unconditional love for her siblings and friends. She fulfilled a life-long dream by moving to Salt Spring Island where she spent her last 18 months. Emma is survived by her children Greg, Robin, Katherine, and Paige; her grandchildren Hana, Shore, and Juniper; her siblings Catherine Shelton, Margaret Ann Brown, Joan Sitterude, and Jack Wilkinson. Emma was a delighted soul, trusted confidante to her friends, and someone who could create masterpieces of all kinds with minimal resources. She is remembered for her generosity of time and spirit, flawless sense of style, and compassionate gaze. We miss and are celebrating her daily. Upon reflection of our lives we see the spirits of those who went before us. Emma touched our hearts and souls. As her spirit carries on through us the world is a better place. I didn't come here of my own accord, and I can't leave that way.
