Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANDRIY (ANDRZEJ) KAPELUCH December 1, 1925 - September 14, 2009 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Andriy Kapeluch; our beloved husband, father, brother and grandfather. Andriy was born in Wislok Wielki, Lemkivshchyna. As a young boy he spent most of his time with his Mom and sisters because his Father was working overseas. Later the Second World War claimed his father's life. In 1947, Akcja Wisla displaced his family to Ziemie Odzyskane , what is now Poland. In 1951, Andriy married his wife Kataryna (nee Madejczyk). He farmed his land and was also a railway employee. To his final days, he continued to be proud of his railway diplomas. As a young man, an occupational accident sent Andriy to hospital where he was in a coma for a few weeks. Andriy's fighting spirit helped him overcome his injuries. In 1991, Andriy immigrated with his wife to Canada where he worked at Shaarey Zedek Cemetery until his retirement. The last few weeks of Andriy's life were spent at Holy Family Nursing Home. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff for their understanding and compassionate care. Left to mourn his passing are his wife Kataryna, sons Michael (Bozena) and Bohdan; daughter Helena, grandchildren Annia, Kasia, Emilka (Scott), Mike, Zbyszek and Nicholas; his sisters Maria Tomaszewska in Poland, and in Winnipeg: Anna Stasiw, Fenna Madejczyk (Mike), Justyna Hryndzio (Walter) and numerous nieces and nephews in Canada, Poland and Germany. Andriy was predeceased by his daughter-in-law Iwona.
