ANGELE COURCHENE January 2, 1923 September 15, 2009 After a long life filled with love and laughter, surrounded by the comfort of her family, our beloved Sister, Auntie, Mom and Auntie-kookum passed away peacefully on September 15, 2009 at the Pine Falls Hospital. She was a courageous lady facing the challenges of her illness for many months but yet holding her hands was with a gentle touch. She leaves to cherish in her memory, her special boy Jamie Spence, her niece Lynn Spence, and great-grandson Joseph Spence (Debbie). Always by her side was her Sister Viola and her nieces Lynn and Delrose (Cook) at the Care Home and hospital. Also surviving are sisters Mary Jane (Jimmy), Viola and brothers Cyril, Victor (Lorraine) and many nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and nephews too many to mention of the Courchene family. She was predeceased by her partner (Richard Gagen), her father Gabriel and Christina, her biological mother Mary Kent, brothers, Leon and Isabelle, Stanford and Albina, Albert, her sister Lucy Cook and her special boy Claude Spence. Auntie spent much of her years in Winnipeg and made many friends, she had a helpful hand for many years by Girard James and the boys as she would say. She was a gift sent to us from the Creator. She shared all that she had and did all that she could for the family in so many caring and loving ways. She loved having family pictures in her room and watching her soap operas. Remembered with love and respect, she will be sadly missed by her family. Special thanks (Megwetch) to the Staff of the George M. Guimond Care Home and the doctors and Staff of the Pine Falls Hospital, who so dearly watched over her. Wake services begin at her niece's residence Marilyn McAuley, Wednesday, September 16 at 6:00 p.m. until Thursday evening followed to the Roman Catholic Church. Services will begin on Saturday, September 19, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. with Father Malachy and Father Augustine officiating. Cremation to follow after the feast in celebration of her life.
