ERNEST DONALD CAMERON April 21, 1923 - September 13, 2009 It is with deep regrets that we announce the passing of Ernest Cameron on Sunday, September 13, 2009 at Misericordia Hospital. Remaining to forever cherish Ernest's memory is his beloved wife of 52 years, Freda; his sons, Gary, Kevin and Mark; daughter, Janice and numerous relatives and friends. Ernie was predeceased by his father, mother and two sisters. Ernie lived all his 86 years in Winnipeg. He attended school at Cecil Rhodes School and Daniel McIntyre Collegiate where he excelled in track and field. He worked for over 30 years at Manitoba Telephone Systems until his retirement in 1987. Ernie was also Treasurer at Isaac Brock Community Club for many years. In his leisure time he enjoyed books, movies, music and sports. Ernie's funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memories in Wojcik's Funeral Chapel at 1020 Main Street at Manitoba Avenue. A small reception will be held in his honour after the service. Special thanks to the Medical Staff at Victoria Hospital and Misericordia Health Centre who cared for Ernie. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made on his behalf at the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, Unit 10-120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2.
