CAROL ANN HERTZOG August 24, 1955 - September 15, 2009 With profound sorrow we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Carol. At the age of 54, with her family by her side in the Medical Intensive Care Unit at the Health Sciences Centre, Carol went to meet those that left before her. Wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and friend, Carol was born in Whitemouth, MB, raised in Seven Sisters Falls, MB. She attended school in Seven Sisters, then continued on to Whitemouth Collegiate. Carol went on to work in Winnipeg for the MB Government. After her son was born she moved back to her hometown and started her career at Pineland Nursery in Hadashville, MB where she continued her employment until she was struck with cancer in December 2008. Carol loved cooking for family and friends and gardening, but her happiest moments were her times spent with her son Jesse. She was overjoyed when her granddaughter Kaylyn was born this past April. Unfortunately, a planned trip to see her had to be cancelled when Carol was admitted to hospital at the end of August. Carol was predeceased by her father Willie Herzog in 1980 and her infant son, Sean Patrick in 1987, as well as many family members too numerous to mention. Left to mourn her passing, her partner, Derrick Bychuk; son, Jesse O'Neil (Krystal and Kaylyn); mother, Tenie Herzog; brother, Doug Hertzog (Laura, Chris and Chelsea); sister, Barb Melillo (January and Mike); inlaws, Ron and Betty Bychuk; brothers-in-law, Kurt Bychuk (Faye, Brayden and Chandra), Randal Bychuk and her best bud Monty. Special thanks to her neighbours Lil, Joanne, Rose and Margit for all of their emotional support during her illness; as well, all of the caring and compassionate staff in MICU at the Health Sciences Centre, CancerCare and her family physician, Dr. Van Gend. Cremation and private family gathering has taken place. In her memory donations can be made to CancerCare MB, 1160-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 or a charity of your choice.
