DONALD JOHN CONDY Don passed away, with family at his side, after a brief illness. Don was born July 17, 1930 in Saskatoon, SK to John and Rose Condy. He is survived by his wife, Shirley, of 31 years; children Russell, Laurel (Steve), Calvin (Sun), Cathy (Frederick), Sandra (Steve), Cindie (Kevin), eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, brother Arnold (Julie), one niece and many friends. Don's career in sales led to him establishing a wholesale giftware / jewellery company Condy Company in 1978. This enabled Don and Shirl to travel extensively in Canada and make many friends that remained close even after their retirement in 1997. After many years in both Winnipeg and Regina, Don and Shirl moved to Airdrie, AB in 2004. In addition to Don's passion for reading, he enjoyed his family, entertaining friends, gardening, politics and CFL games. Don and Shirl both loved travelling and visited much of the US, Europe, Mexico and spent five winters in Hemet, CA. A celebration of Don's life will be held on Sunday, October 11, 2009 in Airdrie (details to be determined). Funeral arrangements provided by Foster's Garden Chapel, Calgary. Remembrances and condolences can be left at www.mem.com. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Lung Association would be appreciated.
