CAROLINE LUCILLE HORVATH March 30, 1951 - September 16, 2009 On September 16 in her home, at the age of 58, our beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother and cherished friend won the gift of eternal life. God has lifted her in His arms and she is flying with the angels of Heaven. Carol's strength and memory will live on and be cherished by her husband Charles Horvath; her children, Kira (Nathan) and Kiley; and her dear grandchildren, Katrina and Korissa. She also leaves to mourn her mother Lucille Gauthier; her brothers, Paul (Cathy) and Jason; and her nieces, Dana and Paige. She was predeceased by her father Maurice Gauthier. Born on March 30, 1951 at St. Boniface Hospital was the beginning of something very special. She attended her school years in Sprague while living at the hotel in Vassar where she helped work in the kitchen with her mom, dad, and many aunts. During these years she met a fine gentleman from Menisino, his name was Charles Horvath. Their love blossomed and they got married on October 2, 1971. Together they ran a large poultry and grain farm for seven years and had two children, Kira and Kiley. The family then moved to Steinbach where she worked at Kinsman Day Nursery and it was here that her true personality was allowed to shine. Caring and giving to others was her specialty and favourite thing to do. Here she met her soulmate and best friend Lori Klassen. Carol and Charles in their retirement moved to Buffalo Point for five years. Here she enjoyed spending time with her mom and dad and feeding all the deer that would come to visit her everyday. Their next adventure in life was moving back to Steinbach to help her son and her brother work at the local hotel here in Steinbach. She ran the kitchen for five years and touched many people's hearts and once again changed and nurtured lives in better directions. Carol and Charles then built a home in Steinbach and lived together until the day the Lord took her. Carol's love of people and life will never be questioned. She was a living angel among us brought to this world to make good and share her love with anybody and everybody that she could. A truly unbelievable spirit who fought cancer for 15 months and courageously left us for a better place. She was the best wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and friend that anyone could ask for. And for this, we are forever grateful to her for her kindness and unconditional love that she showed us all. We miss you and love you forever, forever, forever. Special thanks to Dr. Curtis Krahn and palliative care nurse Debbie Krahn for their care and compassion right until the final moments. Thank you. Prayer service to be held Sunday, September 20, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 150 Penfeld Dr., Steinbach.
