DARRYL DONALD GARNER July 30, 1965 - September 13, 2009 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved son, father, brother, uncle and friend. Darryl was surrounded by loved ones, with his mother and daughter by his side, at the end of his courageous battle with cancer. Remaining to forever cherish Darryl's memory are his son Myles and daughter Haley; parents, Terry and Marcella; sister Lori Baker; brother-in-law Terry; niece Allysa; and grandmother Peggy McMurdo of Port Alberni, BC. Darryl attended Luxton Elementary School and St. John's High School. Darryl was a journeyman plumber. He was a dedicated worker and was employed at Motor Coach Industries for the past 12 years. Darryl was always available to family and friends to lend a helping hand, whether it was fixing a leak, plumbing a new house or hauling grain at the farm. Darryl was a loving and devoted father to Myles and Haley. He enjoyed camping and fishing, especially at Sioux Narrows. Darryl was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for family and friends. A celebration of Darryl's life will be held on Monday, September 21, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Memories in Wojcik's Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main Street at Manitoba Avenue. A private family interment will follow. The family would like to thank Darryl's closest friends, Andrew and Linda, Bruce, and Don for all their support during these past difficult months. A heartfelt thank you to Darryl's special friend Beth, without whose care he would never have been able to remain at home until his last day. In lieu of flowers, donations in Darryl's memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Room ON 1160, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
