Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDITH CAVELL AIME (nee CLOUSTON) In the early morning of September 19, 2009 Mom passed away at the Betel Home in Selkirk. Left to cherish Mom's memory are her three sons, Ken (Betty Fay), Doug (Alice) and Albert and three grandchildren, Kabe, Sonya and Theresa, along with nieces and nephews. Edith will also be missed by Harry McKenzie, long time hired man but very much a part of the family. Mom was born on July 18, 2009 in Cloverdale, the youngest of eight children. She was predeceased by her parents, John Henry and Harriet Martha Clouston, sister Alice Anderson (Walter), brothers Frank, Bill, Bert, Eddie, Tom (Margaret), and Jack (Lenore). In her youth, Mom played piano in a band with her brothers and they played at local dances. Mom served in the Air Force for four years and following that she married and raised her three sons on the family farm. She was a member of the Hospital Aid and served as secretary and treasurer. Mom loved gardening and could make anything grow. She took great pleasure in planting her gamblers garden and picking the first garden produce. She enjoyed her flower gardens. Mom's other pastimes included traveling with her friends, reading, playing cards and scrabble and listening to the Saturday night polka party. The family wishes to thank all the staff at the Betel home for their compassion and care for Mom as well as her friends and family who visited and sent cards. A celebration of Mom's life will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Home in Selkirk with Pastor Alan Redmond officiating. Interment will follow in the Cloverdale United Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Clouston, Raymond Anderson, Bob Mabee, Raymond Tataryn, Alan Aime and Keith Donohoe. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Betel Home Foundation in Selkirk or a charity of one's choice. You were the best Mom - Thanks Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
