JOHN (DELL) MARTIN FRIESEN February 28, 1939 - September 18, 2009 After a life filled with love and laughter, surrounded by the comfort of family and friends, our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away peacefully on September 18, 2009 at Gimli Community Health Centre. Remaining to forever cherish Dell's memory are his wife of 45 years, Jeannette; his daughter Darlene; chosen daughter Irene and her husband Guy; son-in-law John; his grandchildren, Dorian, Darian, Bree-ann, Carissa, Kaitlynn, Shane, Ryan, Brayden, Brandy, and special friend Rene who was his chosen brother. He was predeceased by his parents John and Irene; his brother Robert and by his beloved daughter, Debbie. Family and friends were very important to Dell. He enjoyed having his family around him and was very supportive of his children and grandchildren. He was so proud of his wife that, even though he was very weak, he insisted on attending the 10th anniversary celebration of the Gimli Mac's/Coop Gas Bar one month ago. Despite his illness, Dell lived his life to the fullest and he did it his way, always happy and willing to lend a hand wherever and whenever he could. He loved a good joke and his face just lit up the room whenever he heard or told one. The family would like to thank Dr. Paul Chochinov, Dr. K.S. Jolly and the Pacemaker Clinic and special thanks to Dr. R.C. Patel for their medical expertise; to Home Care, Palliative Care, Gimli Paramedics and to the nurses at Gimli Community Health Centre for their care and compassion during Dell's final days. Special thank you to nurse Tara and to special sister-in- law Jeanne. As per Dell's request, no service will be held. A gathering of family and friends will take place on Friday, September 25, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion, 117 Regent Ave. East. KORBAN FUNERAL CHAPEL 956-2193
