Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEARL MORISON HALSTEAD March 3, 1923 - September 21, 2009 It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Earl on September 21 at the age of 86. Earl is lovingly remembered by his wife Dorothy (Dot) and his sons Allen (Jill), Calvin (Dianne), Ron (Heather), daughter-in-law Roxanne Kroeker, predeceased by one son, Gary, brother-in-law Kenneth Hancock and brothers Harold and Elmer. He will be dearly missed by his seven grandchildren; Chad (Erin), Brad (Pam), Stacey (Jody), Michelle, Mitchell, Luke and Dane and one great-granddaughter, Sydney, sister Audrey (George), sisters-in-law Dorothy, Wilma and Eunice (Charles). Earl was born in Myrtle, MB to Wilford and Janet Halstead. He was raised on the home farm just east of Myrtle and joined the army (PPCLI) in Winnipeg in 1943. He served overseas in Italy, N. Africa, France and Holland, returning home in 1945. In 1946 he married Dorothy Hancock. They farmed the home farm until his retirement in 1991, when they moved to Roland. The funeral service will be held Friday, September 25, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Roland United Church with Rev. Chuck Ross officiating. Interment will take place at 1:00 p.m., prior to the service. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Roland United Church Building Fund. Doyle's Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
