LILLIAN ADRIENNE HENDERSON (nee CHAUVIERE) March 18, 1911 September 20, 2009 Peacefully at Golden Links Lodge on Sunday, September 20, 2009, our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother passed away at the age of 98 years and six months. Mom leaves to mourn her passing her two daughters, Monique (Grant) Henderson and Jacqueline (Jim) Glen as well as her three step-daughters, Joyce (Ken deceased) McCrea of Cambridge, ON, Roberta Rockall of Victoria, BC and Beverley (Alan) Chalkley. She is survived by 15 grandchildren, Michèle, Camille (Terry), Elaine, Heather (Rob), Marianne (George), James (Sara), Ian, Keith (Susan), Fiona (Philip), Diane (Jerzey), Donna (Al), Susan (Bob), Cathy (Jim), Barbara (Les) and Donald (Sonja), 31 great-grandchildren and two special great-great-granddaughters, Thea and Ava. She is also survived by her niece Guyanne (Phil) Chaddock and family. At 21 years of age Mom was predeceased by her first husband Pierre de Saint-Denis and widowed again at 28 with the death of her second husband Nérée Cormier. Mom was married to Bill Henderson for 27 years before his death in 1976. She was predeceased by her parents, Eva and René Chauviere, sister Simone and brother Guy. Mom loved her family dearly especially the babies. Despite her many hardships she loved to laugh, dance and was always the last to leave a family party. In her younger days she enjoyed bowling, curling, bingo and spending time at the family cottage at Laurentia Beach. Mom was talented with her crochet hook and needlepoint, usually without a pattern and was talented at drawing. At one point she kept a scrapbook of her sketches. Our family would like to thank Golden Links Personal Care Home for their wonderful care especially the 2nd floor caregivers and the recreation staff. It was due to their attention and concern that Mom was so happy at Golden Links. A celebration of Mom's life will be held on Tuesday, September 29 at 2:00 p.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald St. Should friends so desire, donations in memory of Lillian may be made to a charity of your choice. The Coutu family in care of arrangements: E. J. COUTU CO. FUNERAL DIRECTORS 680 Archibald St. 253-5086
