ELSA ELLEN BILLAN (Lysak) (geb. Borau) On Thursday September 24, 2009, at the age of 88 years, Elsa passed peacefully into a new life to be with her heavenly Father and Lord Jesus Christ. She will always be cherished by her daughter Anneliese and son-in-law John Stepaniuk of Rosa, MB; grandchildren John Steven (Anita Sudfeld), Beverly (Donald Babey), Paul (Shanley Wood), Mark (Megan Edmunds); great-grandchildren Tyler Mandziuk, Makayla, Brookelyn, Aiden, Caybree and Asher Stepaniuk; and many nieces and nephews in Germany. Elsa was predeceased by her parents, Heinrich Borau and Emilie Schulert, beloved husband Steve Lysak (1973) and husband Edward Billan (1993). She cared deeply about her family, gave of herself generously and devoted her life to God through many bible readings and prayers. We would like to thank the amazing staff at the Menno Home in Grunthal, MB, especially Margo Wood, for time spent taking care of Elsa. Special thanks to Dr. Myron Thiessen for the exceptional medical care he provided Mom over the years. Donations in Elsa's memory can be made to the Menno Home Foundation in Grunthal. Prayers will be held on Monday, September 28 at 6:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Winnipeg. Funeral service will take place on Tuesday, September 29 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel. Interment at Sts. Peter Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery in Rosa, MB.
