CYRIL RAYMOND HOORNE 1934 - 2009 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Cy Hoorne of Treherne, MB, at Winnipeg's Health Sciences Centre, September 23, 2009. Cy leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 39 years Mary, his daughters Michelle, Angela (Jason), Charlotte and his son Gerard (Jill). Bringing their grandfather much joy and laughter his granddaughter Brittany and his grandson Cy. Also left to mourn Cy's passing his brother Dan (Elaine) and sisters Rita (Brian) and Chris (Walter) as well as his many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Cy was born in St. Alphonse, MB, July 2, 1934. His parents, Belgian immigrants, instilled the importance of hard work and education in their children. Cy's determination, good nature and intelligence was something he was known, and will be remembered for. Though he faced many adversities through his life he always kept a positive attitude, always persevered and always counted his blessings. A farmer, Cy's ties were to the land and the community he spent most of his life, Treherne, MB. He was happiest surrounded by family and friends. His loved ones were with him in the end. Cy was predeceased by his father and mother, his younger brother Josef, his mother and father-in-law and numerous aunts and uncles. Funeral Service will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Treherne, MB at 1:00 p.m., Monday, September 28, 2009, with interment to follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Treherne, MB. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 26331 Stn. BRM B Toronto, ON M7Y 4R1.
