JOHN GREGORCHUK June 1, 1967 September 25, 2009 It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our dear husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend, John, at the age of 42. John was the beloved husband of Kelly; loving father of Andrew, Chantel, Brady and Nicholas; devoted grandfather of MaKhaila; cherished son-in-law of Leon and Sandy McIvor; dear brother and brother-in-law of Jean Strylytski (Walter), Elsie Boychuk (Clifford), Marie Aarhus (Wesley), Verna Wilchuk (Terry) and Ashley DaPalma (Anthony); precious nephew of Bill and Helen Gregorchuk; loving uncle to many nephews and nieces; special cousin to so many. John was predeceased by his parents, John and Rose Gregorchuk and his sisters, Doris, Annie and Pat. John was born in Roseau, Minnesota and spent his childhood years on the family homestead in Arbakka, Manitoba. As John reached his adulthood, he moved to Winnipeg and completed his studies becoming a Journeyman Refrigeration Mechanic and A Fitter. John took great pride in his work. No challenge was too big, no call was too late and each customer was just as important as the next. John had a dream to open his own company and saw it to fruition. He owned and operated Gregson Mechanical. He had a great respect for his customer and his suppliers and loved his job. John was a loving, giving and generous man who lived for his family and friends. He cherished the weekends that he would spend at Buffalo Point with his family at their seasonal site. The nights around the fire saying, Come on Steve . . . Just a few more logs! will stay with us forever. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the doctors and staff at Selkirk General Hospital and Health Sciences Centre (Gold Trauma) for all of their efforts. Viewing and prayers will be held at Vita Funeral Homes Vita Chapel , Vita, Manitoba on Wednesday, September 30, 2009, 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will also be held at Vita Funeral Homes Vita Chapel , Vita, Manitoba on Thursday, October 1, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow at St. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery, Arbakka, Manitoba. Active pallbearers will be Kelly Montgomery, Sean Hutmacher, Tim Loeb, Wally Strylytski, Steven Kiansky, Mike Kazina, Chris Wiebe and Anthony DaPalma and Matthew Markmann as an honorary pallbearer. In lieu of flowers, a trust fund has been established in John's name for his two small sons, Brady McIvor and Nicholas Gregorchuk. • I look at your picture and see my mom in you and see how you always just knew that I would find the right answer whenever I was in doubt.. You were a big support when my mom had to leave, but she couldn't leave without you. She knew we would be ok, but had to watch over you. I sincerely thank you for everything you have taught me and all the support you have given me... I miss you!!! Love Sheryl - Posted by: Sheryl (Niece) on: Feb 18, 2013
