JACK VICTOR MONDOR Jack Victor Mondor, after a lengthy illness, passed away at the age of 84 years, on Sunday, September 27, 2009, at Riverview Health Care Centre, Winnipeg. Jack was born on February 18, 1925 in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba to Grace (Kember) and Jean Mondor. Jack leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 64 years, Myrtle (Beaton), his daughter Linda and son-in-law Bohdan Chreptyk; his grandchildren, Tara, Ryan and Brittany and his son Victor and daughter-in-law Donna (Schmidt). He is survived by his sister Constance (Mayes) of Nanaimo, B.C. He enjoyed the companionship of his many sisters and brothers-in-law, as well as many nieces and nephews. Jack is predeceased by his mother Grace (1938), and father Jean (1950). Over the years, Jack worked at delivery and customer service oriented jobs, and still enjoyed many years of retirement. He was keen on many team sports, such as curling, bowling, horseshoes and golf, many of which the family took part in. He loved family gatherings and events. He enjoyed camping, when the children were young, and later took trips to various areas of North America, as well as trips to Europe and the Caribbean. The family would like to thank Dr. R. Hayward, especially, for his excellent care of Jack over the years. Thanks to many people at Home Care, Palliative Care, and the Staff of 3 East, Riverview Health Care Centre for the compassionate care they took of Jack during the final years of his life. Cremation has already taken place. The family would like to invite friends and family to attend an informal celebration of Jack's life to be held on Saturday, October 3, 2009, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in Glen Lawn Reception Centre, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint). If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, Manitoba Branch, located at 1-452 Dovercourt. GLEN LAWN FUNERAL HOME 982-7550
